Synopsis for hawaiian coastal waters.. A surface trough will linger near the big island into the weekend. Winds may briefly increase to moderate to fresh levels near the trough tonight, especially in the vicinity of strong Thunderstorms. Elsewhere, generally gentle and variable winds are expected, with northeasterly winds possible by late Wednesday or Thursday.
