Discussion (tonight - next Wednesday)
Mid upper level trough will move across the eastern u.S. Through
Friday as surface high pressure builds in from the central states. A
northwest to north flow will setup bringing more relatively cool dry
air into the region. Over the weekend a more zonal mid upper level
flow will setup across the region with the surface high moving to
the mid-atlantic coast. This will shift the low level flow to a more
easterly direction with temperatures moderating back closer to
normal. Early next week the high will move well out into the western
atlantic ocean as the next trough and associated cool front move
toward the region. The low level flow will continue to veer around
to the south to southwest on Monday ahead of the boundary bringing
an increase in moisture leading to a chance of a few showers Tuesday
as the front moves through. Another shot of cooler drier air will
then move in behind this front for the second half of next week.

Overall it looks like a rather dry pattern for the next week with
temperatures starting out below normal then climbing to near to
slightly above normal early next week before returning to below
normal by the middle of next week.

Aviation
Some MVFR ceilings will continue across southwest florida this
afternoon, otherwise ceilings are expected to remain mainlyVFR into
tonight. Overnight into Tuesday morning skies will finally clear as
some drier air moves into the region. North to northeast winds at 8
to 12 knots will diminish to around 5 knots this evening into early
Tuesday morning, then increase to around 10 knots out of the
northwest by midday Tuesday.

Marine
High pressure builds into the gulf of mexico from the central u.S.

And then moves east to the mid-atlantic coast over the weekend.

Winds will diminish to less than 15 knots with seas subsiding to 3
feet or less Thursday and continue through the weekend.

Fire weather
The relatively cool dry air will remain across the region through
Friday with a few hours of critical relative humidity possible
across inland areas from around interstate 4 Thursday afternoon
and then all inland areas Friday and Saturday afternoon. However,
winds will remain around 10 mph or less so no other fire weather
hazards are expected. A gradual increase in moisture along with
modifying temperatures gets underway during the weekend. No
significant fog is expected during the next few days.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
