weakening mid/upper level shortwave will move by well to the north
tonight with ridging then beginning to build over the region
Tuesday. At the surface we will continue to have high pressure
ridging southwest from the western atlantic across the area with
a rather light east to southeast synoptic flow remaining in place.

This light flow should allow a decent sea breeze to develop during
the afternoon and move well inland. Moisture will remain limited
and with ridging building in aloft we will continue to see warm
and dry weather with just some scattered to broken
stratocumulus/altocumulus. Temperatures will remain above normal
with lows tonight in the mid 50s to mid 60s and highs on Tuesday
climbing into the lower to mid 80s, expect mid to upper 70s close
to the coast where the sea breeze will keep readings cooler.

Mid term/long term (Tuesday night-Monday)
Mid/upper-level ridging will build over the region for Wednesday
and Thursday, keeping warm and dry conditions in place. The west
coast sea breeze will form in the afternoon and will keep coastal
areas a bit cooler, but temperatures elsewhere will be well above
normal. A few spots could even hit 90 degrees across the
interior.

An upper low/trough will move into the ohio river valley region on
Friday, with a surface low positioned somewhere along the southeast
or maybe a bit more to the north. Global models are showing some
differences in these features, but this appears to be our next
decent chance for rain as a cold front moves through Friday night
into early Saturday.

Upper ridging quickly builds back over the region for the rest of
the weekend and into Monday, with high temperatures going right back
up after a brief few-degree cool-down for Friday and Saturday.

Another trough and surface low look to bring us another shot at some
rain early next week. But timing is definitely in question this far
out in the forecast.

Aviation
GenerallyVFR conditions are expected for the next 24 hours with
the possibility of some MVFR visibilities in fog late tonight at
lal and pgd. The west coast sea breeze will drift inland shifting
winds to west to northwest this afternoon and evening at all but
lal and maybe not rsw. Light winds expected tonight into Tuesday
morning with the bay/sea breezes developing around midday and
early afternoon again on Tuesday.

Marine
Through midweek rather light east to southeast winds overnight
and during the morning hours will shift to onshore with the sea
breeze near the coast each afternoon. Present marine forecast
looks good at this time with no major changes planned for late
morning forecast. Late in the week into the weekend an
increasing southerly flow will develop ahead of a weakening cold
front with speeds reaching exercise caution criteria on Friday.

Fire weather
Dry and seasonably warm weather will be the forecast for the next
several days as high pressure controls the region. Fire weather
activities along and west of the i-75 corridor should expect a
wind shift to westerly each afternoon with the development of the
sea breeze, although timing of this wind shift will depend on
location. Relative humidity will briefly approach 35% away from
the coast the next couple of afternoons, but extended durations of
low relative humidity are not anticipated and winds will be
generally light, preventing red flag conditions from being
achieved.

Fog potential... Patchy fog will develop away from the coast late
each night into the early morning for the next few days, but
widespread or dense fog is not expected.
