Short term (tonight)
Aloft - a complex trough from the northwest pacific coast-northern
intermountain west down to the ca az border eases east tonight...

pushing a ridge from mexico to south-central canada toward the
mississippi valley. A short wave trough over the ohio valley exits
off the southern mid-atlantic coast. Surface - a frontal boundary
settles south through the deep south. The axis of atlantic high
pressure extending over the gulf of mexico shifts south... From
central to southern fl.

Northwesterly flow aloft continues for the next 36 hours or so with
a stable air mass... Keeping the forecasts rain free through sun. The
surface ridge axis sinking south will maintain westerly low level
flow... Providing increasing moisture. This moisture... Mainly in the
lower levels... Along with westerly flow staying light will result in
late night patchy to areas of fog. Current forecasts on track
with no updates required.

18 00z tafs.VFR give way to late night br... Mainly MVFR although
lal and pgd could see brief ifr.VFR returns at 14z with just few
to sct clouds. Westerly winds prevail but diminish overnight and
become ocnl calm.

Relaxed high pressure drifts south over the waters with light
mainly southwest to west winds for the next couple of days. The
main concern will be some patchy fog... In tampa bay and north of
tarpon springs later tonight then perhaps greater coverage sun
night into mon.

A front approaches late Mon with increasing winds and moves
through Tue with thunderstorms. Some hazardous boating conditions
are expected... Mariners planning any extended trips should stay
up to date on the latest forecasts

Fire weather
The dry air of this afternoon gives way to increasing moisture...

with min rh values running above critical levels sun-wed. Then dry
air filtering in behind a cold front will drop the min rh down to or
below critical levels for the end of the week.

Red flag conditions continue across polk county but are ending
and will let the warning expire at 8 pm.

The information on this web site has not been checked for accuracy. It is for entertainment purposes only and should be independently verified before using for any other reason. There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
