Synopsis Temperatures will continue to warm through Monday,
with warmest temperatures likely across the interior, and
seasonable readings near the coast. Some coastal river valley
stratus will continue through the weekend. Isolated thunderstorms
may develop over interior mountains through Tuesday, especially
for trinity county.

Discussion Much like yesterday, stratus continues over much of
the coast and coastal river valleys. These clouds penetrated much
farther inland along the river valleys on Saturday bu tonight
have receded toward the coast again as the marine layer thinned
some by this morning. Have adjusted the grids and forecasts
accordingly. Expect the coastal stratus to continue through today
and over night into Monday morning as the flow and general marine
layer conditions remain unchanged through that time.

For today, temperatures will warm into the 80s across much of the
interior, with a few locals hitting the lower 90s. Models
continue to show a few storms developing along an axis from the
trinity alps to the yolla bolly's and this still looks good for
now. Expect similar conditions on Monday afternoon. A minor
change has occurred in the model data, with the ECMWF and gfs
continue to indicate an open wave in the base of a trough
crossing the region on Tuesday. Indication are that afternoon max
temperatures inland will cool and a more widespread showery
condition is likely ahead of and with this feature.

Temperatures will cool for the middle of the week as the trough axis
slides over the region, progressing to the east by the end of the
work week. Increasing subsidence and heights will lead to seasonably
warm and drier conditions by next week end. Mkn

Marine Light north winds will persist next week as the resulting
pressure gradient over the coastal waters remains weak. Little
change is expected as an area of low pressure aloft will move over
the region... Maintaining the weak gradient. The light wind and a
lack of any significant distant swell will provide a limited sea
state dominated by the light northerlies.

Aviation A deep marine layer continues to plague coastal
areas with MVFR ceilings expected again today. The depth of the
layer gradually shrank overnight as the air aloft warmed up. As a
result, stratus should not push as far inland... With slight
improvement expected this afternoon and possible partial clearing
late in the day. Interior sites will will mainly beVFR with the
exception of some of the coastal interior valleys where some stratus
may creep in during the morning hours but should not see the extent
that was observed the previous two days.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
