Synopsis An upper level low will bring isolated showers to the
region tonight. Another low drops south for Saturday with more
widespread chances for showers. Drier and warmer weather expected
for the lowlands for next week with chances for showers and
isolated thunderstorms in the mountains through memorial day.

Short term tonight through Monday The first of couple
upper lows to affect the region is sinking southward over
north central oregon this evening. Apart from a few breaks
along the coast, cloud cover is pretty solid across western
washington. We can expect isolated showers overnight with lows
mostly near 50. The next upper low is approaching haida gwaii this
evening and will slide down the bc coast overnight to just west of
quillayute by mid morning Saturday. Showers will increase through
the day... Especially over the interior of western washington... As
the low slides southward. This should be a more prolific
precipitation producer for lowlands around puget sound with many
spots getting a quarter to half inch of rainfall Saturday afternoon
and evening. As one would expect, temperatures will remain cool with
highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. 27
from previous discussion... The upper level low will exit south on
Sunday, but we may see some wrap-around showers clipping the
cascades. Otherwise, onshore flow is weaker for less cloud cover and
warmer temperatures.

We're looking warmer for memorial day as temperatures reach the
low to mid 70s in the interior. The coast will remain cooler and
in the 60s. There's a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms
in the cascades, where instability is the greatest. 33

Long term Tuesday through Friday Weak high pressure will
provide dry weather as we move through next week. At the surface,
low level onshore flow will prevail. We'll likely see morning
clouds each day then some clearing and sunbreaks in the afternoon.

The pattern breaks down late in the period, next Friday and
Saturday, as the flow turns more zonal and a trough moves in. 33

Aviation Northerly flow aloft over western washington this
evening as the first of a couple upper level lows departs the
region. Flow aloft will back to southerly by mid morning Saturday as
next low sinks southward to just off the north washington coast by
18z. The air mass remains moist and stable with widespread low MVFR
and areas of ifr ceilings developing by daybreak. Showers will
remain isolated through about 15z then increase in coverage through
Saturday afternoon... Especially over the interior of western
washington.

Ksea...VFR CIGS this evening will deteriorate to low MVFR overnight
and persist into Saturday afternoon. Showers increasing by late
Saturday morning with 18z-00z period probably worst in terms of
both low ceiling and precipitation. Surface winds southwesterly
backing to southerly 7 to 11 knots overnight. Winds shifting to
northerly around 00z-02z Saturday evening. 27

Marine Onshore flow through Saturday with strong northwesterly
flow present over the coastal waters. Gale warnings continue for the
outer coastal waters with SCA level winds for the inner coastal
waters into Saturday. Surface flow will become lighter later
Saturday into Sunday. Onshore flow will increase on Monday and
continue through Tuesday. Jd

start of the next rainy season; it will only be updated as needed
until then.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
