Synopsis for the northern and central washington coastal and inland waters..The flow will become offshore or ne tonight due to a thermally induced trough of low pres that will develop just off the coast overnight. Synopsis High pressure aloft and low level offshore flow will
bring very warm weather this weekend. Onshore flow will develop
early next week with temperatures cooling back to near normal and
some night and morning clouds. Temperatures will warm a bit later
next week as high pressure aloft rebuilds over the area.

Short term An upper ridge will move over western washington on
Saturday. At the same time, a thermal trough will build north
along the coast with low level offshore flow developing. This will
allow highs to warm to near record levels many areas with very
warm weather even at the coast.

The upper ridge axis and surface thermal trough will shift inland
on Sunday. It will be another very warm day for the interior - a
few degrees warmer than Saturday for most locations and the
warmest in the current heat wave. The coast will see around 10
degrees of cooling as onshore flow develops.

A marine push Sunday night will spread clouds into the interior
Monday morning. These should burn back to the coast later Monday
but highs will be 10-15 degrees cooler. Schneider

Long term Previous discussion... The upper level pattern is
forecast to be progressive over the next week or so with troughing
moving into the area early to mid week and ridging returning
later next weekend.

For the Tuesday through Friday period, the forecast will indicate
night and morning clouds with clearing inland during the afternoon
hours. Temperatures are expected to fall to near or slightly below
normal Tuesday or Wednesday then moderate slowly late in the week
as the marine layer deepens and moderates. At this time it appears
that conditions will remain dry for the next week or so. Albrecht

Aviation A strong upper level ridge axis is off the coast this
evening, and it will move east across western washington late
Saturday. Moderate northwest flow aloft will become light on
Saturday. The air mass will be dry and stable through Saturday,
then some mid-level instability will develop Saturday night.

Clear skies throughout western washington through Saturday night.

Ksea... Clear skies and northerly flow through the next 30 hours.

Haner

Marine The flow will become weakly offshore or northeasterly
tonight due to a thermally induced trough of low pressure becoming
established just off the coast. Weak offshore flow will continue
until Sunday morning.

The thermally induced trough of low pressure will shift east of
the cascades Sunday afternoon. This will cause the flow to become
onshore and then strengthen Sunday night. Westerly gales are
possible in the strait either on Monday night before weakening
some on Tuesday. Haner

Sew watches warnings advisories
Wa... Heat advisory from noon Saturday to 9 pm pdt Sunday for bellevue
and vicinity-bremerton and vicinity-east puget sound
lowlands-hood canal area-seattle and vicinity-southwest
interior-tacoma area.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
