Synopsis for the southern oregon coastal waters..A persistent thermal trough will result in gusty north winds over the waters through midweek. Through this morning, steep to very steep wind driven seas are expected south of cape blanco with highest south of gold beach. This pattern will result in gale force north winds during the afternoons and evenings through Wednesday with the highest winds and seas from about port orford southward. Conditions hazardous to small craft with gusty north winds and steep seas expand north of cape blanco during this time frame. The thermal trough weakens Thursday into Friday with improving conditions, though steep seas are likely to linger through the end of the week.
