Synopsis..Light to occasionally moderate southwesterly winds switch to a moderate to strong northerly flow late tonight into early Saturday morning as a cold front moves through the area. Seas build to 2 to 5 feet near shore and 4 to 7 fell well offshore by Saturday night. The offshore flow gradually subsides Sunday into Monday and becomes more easterly, along with seas subsiding to 2 to 3 feet.

AVIATION. 06Z issuance . A cold front currently advancing across central Mississippi moves through the forecast area overnight into early Saturday morning. Light southwest winds switch to the northwest at 10 to 20 knots as the front moves through. Scattered showers and a few storms are expected along and west of I-65, with isolated showers further to the east overnight. Isolated showers are also possible mainly over the western Florida panhandle Saturday morning. VFR conditions ahead of the front will be followed by a MVFR ceiling which then improves to VFR conditions Saturday morning. /29

NEAR TERM /Now Through Sunday/ . A cold front currently located from central Mississippi into central Louisiana moves through the forecast area approximately between 06-12Z and ushers in much cooler and drier air. Showers and possibly a few storms accompany the passage of the front, with coverage gradually diminishing as the front moves through. Have gone with chance to good chance pops overnight roughly along and west of I-65 with slight chance pops for much of the remaining portion. Saturday (and the remainder of the period through Sunday) will be dry except for slight chance pops in the morning mostly over the western Florida panhandle. Lows tonight range from around 60 to the mid 60s along and west of I-65 with upper 60s to around 70 further to the east. Highs on Saturday range from the lower 70s well inland to near 80 at the immediate coast. Lows Saturday night will be much cooler and range from the upper 40s to around 50 inland to the lower/mid 50s at the coast. Highs on Sunday will be cool and mostly 70 to 75. A low risk of rip currents is expected through the period. /29
