GMZ005 Synopsis For Keys Coastal Waters From Ocean Reef To Dry Tortugas 1026 Pm Edt Thu Oct 10 2024
Synopsis..Milton made the transition to extratropical earlier today, and breezes have slackened greatly over the past day as the storm continues track east and away from the florida peninsula. While moderate breezes will persist overnight, swells for milton will push into the eastern straits of florida early Friday morning, lasting through Saturday. Surface high pressure will move across the tennessee valley and then off the southeast coast over the weekend and into early next week. As a result, expect gentle to moderate northeast to east breezes through the weekend. However, there may be a period of moderate to fresh breezes Friday and Friday night for the offshore gulf waters.
