Synopsis for the southern california coast and santa barbara channel including the channel islands national marine sanctuary and national park..At 01z, or 6 pm pdt, a 1024 mb surface high was centered 700 nm west of point conception, while a 1004 mb thermal low was centered over southern nevada. Gale force wind gusts are likely over the outer waters this weekend. Steep and choppy seas are expected across much of the coastal waters this weekend.
