Moderate to locally strong northwest winds across the waters today, with gale force winds forecast across the northern waters from the golden gate gap northward and south of point sur. These gusty winds will generate steep to very steep wind waves at 8 to 10 seconds today. A moderate northwest swell of 3 to 6 feet at 12 to 14 seconds will arrive late this weekend and merge with the steep wind waves. Together, steep to very steep combined seas of 12 to 18 feet at 10 to 12 seconds are possible Sunday and Monday.
