Moderate to locally strong northerly winds across the waters today. The strongest winds will be located in the outer waters north of point reyes where infrequent to occasional low end gale force gusts are possible. Elevated winds will also be present near and south of point sur along the big sur coast. Moderate northerly winds will persist into Monday. Then, a burst of offshore winds over land will spill over into the coastal waters beginning Monday night, bringing gale force winds across nearshore waters and through portions of the san francisco bay into midweek. A large, very long period northwest swell will arrive from early Sunday through late Monday, bringing additional hazards to small craft vessels through early into the week.
