at 1056 pm pdt, doppler radar indicated strong Thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These Thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm northwest of cape mendocino to 37 nm southwest of eureka, moving northeast at 25 knots.

Synopsis for northern california waters..Southern waters near point arena are bordering on small craft advisory criteria this morning with gusty winds at 25 to 27 kts. Steep wind waves associated with this strong breeze will ease by day break, as calmer winds prevail. A pressure diffluence will split the wind profile, wnw south of shelter cove and southerly winds north of cape mendocino. After a brief surge of southerly winds along a frontal boundary this evening, breezy northwesterly winds will return to the waters on Friday and persist through Sunday, especially in the southern waters. Another weak front is expected to move through along with an additional mid- period swell late this weekend.
