at 1056 pm pdt, doppler radar indicated strong Thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These Thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm northwest of cape mendocino to 37 nm southwest of eureka, moving northeast at 25 knots.

Synopsis for northern california waters..A progressive closed low will drop down along the california coast today, and will generate se gale gusts in the southern waters. Northerly gales and hazardous seas will develop Saturday and Sunday behind the passing low. A long period northwest swell will build in for Monday as winds ease, generated from the current low pressure system headed toward the gulf of alaska.
