at 1056 pm pdt, doppler radar indicated strong Thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These Thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm northwest of cape mendocino to 37 nm southwest of eureka, moving northeast at 25 knots.

Synopsis for northern california waters..Winds and seas will continue to calm down overnight. Coastal fog carried by light southerly winds is possible south of cape mendocino. Wave heights are expected to fall by Friday morning as northerlies continue to diminish. A small, long period southerly swell will minimally impact the overall sea state through Saturday. A weak cold front will cause northerly winds to rapidly increase Saturday afternoon. These northerly winds will further strengthen on Sunday with a high chance of reaching gale conditions.
