ST6001 Control Unit Quick Reference GuideBasic operation Auto mode Track mode Entering Auto mode Returning to Standby Entering Track mode from Auto or Wind Vane mode Engaging the autopilot Disengaging the autopilot to enter Track mode then to accept new heading Making course changes 1 Course Course changes or or changes to to port starboard 10 Exiting Track mode Press or Returning to previous locked heading Wind Vane mode then to accept heading Entering Wind Vane mode 1 sec and Using AutoTack AutoTack AutoTack to and and to port starboard Exiting Wind Vane mode Press or Default AutoTack 100 Autopilot adjustments Adjusting response level Adjusting keypad and Displaying data pages To make temporary changes display lighting Press to and 1 sec show first data page scroll through available data pages return to previous mode Use 1 or 1 to adjust response level Use disp to adjust lighting level Press disp to return to previous mode Wait 10 sec to return to previous mode D55022 Compass calibration 1 Enter Seatrial Calibration 2 sec x2 2 Complete the compass deviation correction Start turning boat see below Turn boat in slow circles so boats speed stays below 2 knots each circle takes at least 2 minutes Autopilot heading Minimum of 2 circles Keep turning the boat until you see the DEVIATION screen 3 Align the autopilot heading a Coarse adjustment If COG is available from GPS press to set autopilot heading to COG value then fine tune manually see below b Fine adjustment If COG is not available or after setting heading to COG align autopilot heading manually Autopilot heading Steering compass or or Known Adjust the autopilot heading so it shows the heading same value as the boats steering compass 4 Save changes To save deviation correction save heading alignment 2 sec return to STANDBY mode D54761Document number 860621 use with handbook 811901Date 11 May 2001
