UPDATE
Issued at 1050 PM EDT Thu Jun 19 2025
An electrifying show tonight if were watching north of the island chain. A large cluster of showers and thunderstorms that developed across the southwest mainland, shifted southwest and moved into our waters. This cluster remains ongoing this hour and continues its southwest march across the outer Gulf waters. It has lost much of its bite but still remains quite the prolific lightning maker.
Outside of this activity, you would be none the wiser as conditions have remain tranquil all evening. Winds are east to southeast, helping to maintain temperatures as of 1050 pm, in the lower to mid 80s with dew points in the lower to mid 70s.
Minor changes were made to account for the said cluster marching through the outer Gulf waters. Otherwise, the rest of the area remains untouched. Expecting only a slight chance for precipitation for the overnight.
MARINE
Issued at 1050 PM EDT Thu Jun 19 2025
A cluster of thunderstorms is steadily marching southwest across the outer Gulf waters. There has been a slow and gradual downward trend in the strength and intensity over the past hour. Additional weakening is expected as it continues to move southwest. However, mariners should continue to exercise extreme caution as this activity is still capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots, along with frequent lightning, and bouts of heavy rainfall.
From synopsis: Atlantic ridging across the Florida Peninsula will weaken over the next couple of days resulting in relaxing breezes.
The Atlantic ridging will consolidate off the southeast coast over the weekend and early next week returning moderate and periodically fresh breezes.
AVIATION
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 1050 PM EDT Thu Jun 19 2025
VFR conditions will prevail across the island terminals tonight and into tomorrow morning. A slight chance still remains for isolated showers and thunderstorms to move across the airfields overnight but confidence on exact location and time remain uncertain. Therefore, they will be added in future amendments as needed.
