UPDATE
Issued at 1050 PM EDT Mon Jun 16 2025
For a while this afternoon and early evening, it looked like things were going to be somewhat busy weather wise. However, as we got closer to sunset, the showers we were seeing on radar quickly dissipated. What showers remain on radar are outside of our area of responsibility this hour. Meanwhile, an east to southeast wind is once again keeping temperatures in the lower 80s with dew points in the mid 70s. A most muggy combination for this evening.
Dry air was still quite evident in this evening's sounding. This will continue to wreck havoc on our rain chances through the next 12 to 24 hours. There is a nocturnal surge beginning to develop across our area and may lend to some boundary collisions but nothing to hang our hats on. Therefore, see no need to deviate from the slight chance PoPs (20%) currently in place.
MARINE
Issued at 1050 PM EDT Mon Jun 16 2025
Atlantic ridging will remain across the Florida Peninsula through Friday. This will support moderate to occasionally fresh east to southeast breezes. Winds will peak in the evening and overnight, while lulling during the day.
AVIATION
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 1050 PM EDT Mon Jun 16 2025
VFR conditions expected at both island terminals through the overnight and into tomorrow morning. Shower coverage will continue to remain very limited and would mainly trek across the MTH terminal if they develop overnight. Otherwise, ESE winds of 10 to 15 knots with occasional gusts to near 20 knots can be expected.
