New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, AVIATION, MARINE, BEACHES
KEY MESSAGES
Updated at 100 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026
- Dangerous rip currents will remain in place across the Atlantic Coast beaches through the weekend. Dangerous surf conditions remain for the Palm Beaches through late tonight.
- Hazardous marine conditions continue today for all local waters. These hazardous conditions will linger across the Atlantic waters through the weekend due to elevated winds and seas.
- Gusty east northeasterly winds will remain in place through the upcoming weekend.
SHORT TERM
(Today through Saturday)
Issued at 100 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026
An upper level shortwave will move out of the SE US today into the western Atlantic which will help push the frontal boundary that is just to our south further away from the region. Meanwhile, upper level ridging will start to build in over the next couple days and surface high pressure will build into the area. While there will be plenty of mid level dry air in place, there will still be plenty of low level moisture for scattered showers to develop today. NE winds will remain breezy with gusts of 20-30 mph especially along the coast the next couple of days. Moisture levels continue dropping off on Saturday with forecast soundings showing PWAT values down to around 1 inch. While most of South FL will be dry on Saturday, will keep slight chance PoPs in along the east coast for some occasional quick moving coastal showers.
High temperatures today and Saturday will range from the upper 70s to lower 80s across the east coast metro, and mid to upper 80s across SW FL. Low temps tonight will range from around 60 over interior SW FL, to near 70 close to the east coast.
LONG TERM
(Saturday night through Thursday)
Issued at 100 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026
Upper level ridging and surface high pressure will become entrenched across the region for the end of the weekend through the middle of next week. This will result in mainly dry conditions for South FL but remaining breezy each day especially along the Atlantic coast.
Temperatures each day through the middle of next week will be fairly consistent with highs ranging from the upper 70s to low 80s across the east coast metro and mid to upper 80s across SW FL. Overnight lows will generally be in the 60s to around 70 near the coast.
AVIATION
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 100 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026
ENE winds 10-15 kts with gusts around 25 kts throughout the period. SCT MVFR ceilings will prevail. Occasional coastal showers expected across the east coast metro.
MARINE
Issued at 100 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026
Hazardous marine conditions will continue into the weekend. ENE winds 20-25 kts with gusts around 30 kts are expected. Seas 5-10 ft in the Atlantic today and 2-5 ft in the Gulf. The hazardous marine conditions will continue for the Gulf waters until Saturday morning, while in the Atlantic they will remain hazardous into early next week.
BEACHES
Issued at 100 AM EDT Fri Apr 10 2026
Strong persistent easterly flow will result in a high risk of rip currents for the Atlantic beaches through the upcoming weekend.
In addition, dangerous surf conditions continue for the Palm Beaches. 6-10 ft waves in the surf zone are expected through at least Friday evening.
