Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 729 AM EDT Thu Apr 22 2021

AVIATION. VFR conditions are expected through the forecast period. North to northeast winds this morning will become northwest with the sea breeze this afternoon.

Prev Discussion. /issued 410 AM EDT Thu Apr 22 2021/

DISCUSSION . A stalled out boundary that brought us gloomy, wet, and muggy start to our work week finally start to push south as high pressure moved in yesterday. This resulted in drier and slightly cooler air moving in. This will result in beautiful weather for the rest of the work week with low humidity and plenty of sunshine. Lows this morning and tomorrow morning will be in the 50's north of I-4.

As we go throughout the weekend another cold front will be heading our way from the midwest. This means increasing clouds and humidity for our Saturday. Models are in pretty good agreement that the front will start to push through the area during the early morning hours on Sunday. This will be a much faster front compared to the last one and should be completely out of our area by Sunday evening. Currently it looks like as the front pushes south the showers associated with it will start to dissipate. This means the best chance for showers with the front will be north of I-4 in the morning hours on Sunday.

High pressure will return for next work week, however the drier and cooler air we are enjoying now will not return. We will have plenty of sunshine but temperatures will be warm and humidity will be on the higher side.

AVIATION . VFR conditions expected through the period with north and northeast winds. Wind speeds should remain below 15 knots.

MARINE . High pressure has pushed back into the area brining with it sunny skies and slightly cooler temperatures. Unfortunately it has also brought breezy conditions with most of us having to deal with winds around 15 knots out of the north and east for the rest of the work week. Another cold front will start to head our way for the weekend. This will shift our winds to the south for Saturday but stay breezy at around 15 knots. After frontal passage Sunday morning winds will shift to the north and then northwest and start to slow down to around 10 knots.

FIRE WEATHER . Drier and cooler air will be filtering into the area over the next few days. Today will be driest with RHs in the 40's for most of us. Critically low RHs will be possible in Levy County but winds will be light so red flag will not be needed.
