VFR conditions are expected through the forecast period.
DISCUSSION
Issued at 245 AM EDT Wed May 14 2025
Early morning water vapor satellite imagery is showing an upper level trough digging into the southeastern US and eastern Gulf, pulling a drier airmass aloft into the Florida Peninsula. At the surface, the sub tropical ridge is extending across southern Florida, keeping westerly low level flow in place today.
Temperatures will run near normal this afternoon, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The surface ridge will lift north Thursday and Friday across central Florida, and will then hold through the weekend and early next week as an upper level ridge builds into the southern Gulf. This will allow temperatures to climb to slightly above normal by the weekend and early next week, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s. With precipitable water values holding around 1.25 inches or less, rain chances through the start of next week will remain negligible. However, moisture will be getting slightly higher by early next week, allowing for a few showers or storms over the interior by Tuesday afternoon.
MARINE
Issued at 245 AM EDT Wed May 14 2025
The ridge of high pressure stretching across southern Florida into the eastern Gulf today is supporting westerly flow. This ridge axis will lift north Thursday and Friday and will hold through the weekend, bringing in southerly and southeasterly flow to the central and southern waters. Otherwise, rain chances will remain near zero through the period, with wind speeds expected to run around 10 knots or less.
FIRE WEATHER
Issued at 245 AM EDT Wed May 14 2025
No fire weather concerns. Rain free conditions will hold through at least the rest of the week.
