KEY MESSAGES
Updated at 1217 PM CDT Sat Jun 21 2025
- Low to medium (20-40%) rain chances today east late week.
DISCUSSION
Issued at 1217 PM CDT Sat Jun 21 2025
The bulk of this wave of moisture we've been dealing with has moved inland and thus showers are mainly confined to inland counties today. Expect showers and isolated thunderstorms through the end of the day. This moisture will kick out of the region by tonight and tomorrow as ridging continue to build with only very low rain chances Sunday and Monday. While an isolated shower is not out of the question, nothing organized is expected. We'll see plumed of enhanced moisture push into the region Tuesday through the end of the week, but the best moisture and thus rain chances looks to center around Thursday and Friday as an inverted trough reached the Texas coast. Have low to moderate rain chances throughout the coastal bend in that period.
Temperatures remain very persistent through this period, in fact over the next 7 days, both the max and min temp forecasts vary by about 2 degrees at any particular location. The caveat to that could be with the moisture plume late week. If precip coverage were to be greater than currently forecast, and with more cloud cover this could cap temperatures a little cooler. Overall expected highs in the 90s and lower in the 70s through the period.
AVIATION
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1217 PM CDT Sat Jun 21 2025
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are noted today, mainly from ALI terminal westward. Have VCSH mentioned for all western sites. Have not added TS into the TAFs, but this is not out of the question, just low probs of impacting any single location. Will monitor through the afternoon for any necessary updates. Have prevailing VFR conditions through the period for most sites, but a period of MVFR for LRD for a few hours in the morning. Other sites have tempo mention of MVFR. Expect breezy southeasterly winds this afternoon and again by late morning Sunday.
MARINE
Issued at 1217 PM CDT Sat Jun 21 2025
Seasonal gentle to moderate onshore flow is expected through this forecast period. Mainly dry conditions are expected through Monday, then a moderate (30-60%) chance for showers and storms later in the week as a few disturbances track aloft.
