Weather will remain quiet through the short term as high pressure controls the area weather. The drier high will continue to slide eastward through the middle to lower Mississippi Valley tomorrow, keeping the weather seasonably warm with no rain in the forecast.
By Friday, the high will shift east of the local area, with winds becoming onshore again and marking the gradual return of moisture to the area. Moisture will still be very limited on Friday, so once again, no showers or storms in the forecast.
LONG TERM
(Saturday through Tuesday)

Return flow continues through the weekend and into the next work week. As we move into Sunday and the first half of next week, isolated to scattered daily afternoon showers and thunderstorms will gradually spread across the area, beginning in northwestern portions of the area Sunday afternoon and spreading eastward through the work week. Overall rain totals through the week should be generally light (less than one half inch except in localized instances of heavier storms).
Temperatures will remain near to warmer than normal through the period.
