KEY MESSAGES
Issued at 634 PM CDT Fri May 15 2026
- Dry weather expected through the weekend, with rain returning in the coming week.
- Below normal overnight lows expected tonight. Highs and lows trend warmer and well above normal by early next week.
UPDATE
Issued at 634 PM CDT Fri May 15 2026
Forecast remains on track for tonight. /22
DISCUSSION
Issued at 158 PM CDT Fri May 15 2026
An upper ridge will build over the eastern CONUS and western Atlantic through the weekend. This will keep the area mostly dry through early next week as systems are deflected northwest of the region. There may be enough deep layer moisture over western portions of the area on Sunday for a few showers across southeast Mississippi on Sunday, however most areas will remain dry. The building ridge will lead to increasing temperatures, with highs in the mid and upper 80s through much of the period. Lows will remain below normal tonight and Saturday night before warming back above normal for next week as moisture levels increase. Rain chances return to the forecast by midweek as moisture levels increase and the upper ridge weakens. /13
AVIATION
(00Z TAFS)
