DISCUSSION
Issued at 408 AM CDT Thu May 22 2025

A dry end to the week as our "cool" front has now moved offshore of the area as zonal flow sets up across the deep south. Expect dry conditions through Friday night With temperatures just hovering in the low 90s. The only real exciting thing will be the lower dewpoints today making the heat a little more manageable.
Unfortunately we live on the gulf coast and this only lasts a day as dewpoints quickly increase on Friday in response to our upcoming pattern change.

The pattern turns more unsettled as we roll into early next week.
Zonal flow aloft will gradually turn northwesterly as a ridge builds to our west. A parade of subtle shortwaves will trek through the northwesterly flow over the weekend leading to scattered showers and storms. The best chance for rain will be generally northwest of the I-65 corridor over the weekend where forcing would be a little better. However, storms could meander to the coastal areas as each individual shortwave moves through the deep south. Flow will gradually become more zonal by the beginning of next week leading to an increase in rain chances. Several rounds of showers and storms will be expected during the week next week. A surface low slides across the Mid- South, sending a cold front into our area late on Tuesday or Wednesday. BB-8
