A wind advisory continues until 9 PM for portions of the Concho Valley, Big Country and Crockett country, as lee trough was bringing strong south winds gusting up to 40 mph. Winds should decrease toward sunset, but remain gusty overnight. For Sunday, a similar setup is in store and depending on data, a wind advisory may be need for the same general area, mid morning through early evening.

Except for possibly an isolated showers or two this afternoon, from Junction to Mason, Brady and San Saba; dry conditions are expected under upper ridging. Highs Sunday will be mainly in the lower 90s, with lows tonight in the lower 70s.

LONG TERM
(Sunday night through next Saturday)

A large area of high pressure ridging will continue to sit across the southeastern U.S. through the next few days. We will be underneath the western edge of this system, which will keep our area hot and dry through the next few days. However, we will not be a hot a we would otherwise be if the ridge shifted to the west some. Overall, we will continue to see high temperatures in the lower to middle 90s through next week.

Southerly winds gusting to as high as 35 kt this afternoon will come down a little after sunset but still remain gusty overnight.
Also, MVFR ceilings will spread back into the area in the early morning hours- mainly south of the I-20 corridor. VFR conditions will return by the late morning hours. Winds will continue out of the south on Sunday with gusts of 25-35 kt in the afternoon.
