Some patchy fog is possible early this morning. Otherwise, dry conditions are expected to prevail today with highs ranging from the mid 80s to low 90s. For tonight, we'll see another chance of patchy fog late in the night with overnight lows ranging from the mid 60s to near 70.

SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM

Quiet conditions are expected through the short and long term periods as high pressure settles over the region for the next several days. Temperatures are expected to rise heading towards the weekend with highs in the mid to upper 90s. Due to dew points in the upper 60s and low 70s, and light winds in place, we may have heat indices approaching 100 degrees. Because of the high pressure, little to no rain is expected over the next several days. There is a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms to move into the northern tier of our CWA at the end of the term as a cold front approaches, but at this time is not expected to really push through, limiting PoPs to less than 20%.

High pressure will allow for favorable boating conditions with seas around 2-3 feet, gradually diminishing as we head into the weekend.

FIRE WEATHER

Mainly dry weather is expected over the next several days with heat and humidity building by Friday. The main fire weather concern will be high dispersions mainly north of I-10 for both this afternoon and Thursday afternoon. Some enhancement to the southwest winds is expected for both afternoons mainly to the south of I-10.

Little to no rain is expected over the next several days. There are a few rivers in Action Stage following last weekend's rainfall, but are expected to come down. No river flooding is expected.
