KEY MESSAGES
- Seasonably hot and humid weather will continue through the weekend with little to no chance for rain.
- A low chance for showers and storms will return to parts of Central and East Texas next week.
SHORT TERM
/NEW/ /Through Sunday/
Seasonable June weather will continue this weekend, with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s and morning lows in the 70s. Rain chances will be nil across the region as we remain on the periphery of a strong upper level ridge centered over the eastern CONUS (the feature responsible for the ongoing heat wave across the eastern half of the country). Fortunately for us here in North and Central Texas, the heat will remain relatively tolerable, with temperatures running near normal for mid to late June. Breezy south winds will continue through the weekend with wind speeds near 10-20 mph and gusts up to 25-30 mph.

LONG TERM
/NEW/ /Sunday Night Onward/
The upper level ridge axis will shift further north and east this week, becoming increasingly displaced from North and Central Texas. While weak ridging will continue to keep most locations rain-free, low storm chances will return to portions of Central and East Texas as seabreeze convection makes a run at our southern zones during the afternoon most days this week.
Temperatures will remain near normal throughout the week, with afternoon highs mostly in the low to mid 90s and morning lows in the 70s. Heat index values will generally remain in the 95-102 degree range.

AVIATION
/NEW/ /18Z TAFs/
VFR and breezy/gusty south winds will continue across the region, with the potential for a few hours of MVFR ceilings Sunday morning. Wind speeds will be between 15-20 knots with gusts around 25 to 30 knots. The strong gusts will slightly weaken tonight, but will pick back up tomorrow morning and continue through the end of the period.
