Areas of Moderate HeatRisk in the Valley today before temperatures fluctuate between near and slightly above normal late week into the weekend as a more progressive pattern sets up aloft. Periods of breezy weather with dry conditions continue throughout the week maintaining elevated fire weather concerns.
* Today:
-Above normal high temperatures in the 80s to low 90s today,with Valley highs into the mid 90s and isolated areas of Moderate HeatRisk.
-Very dry conditions and diurnally breezy winds expected as elevated fire weather conditions persist.
* Thursday - Sunday:
-Quick moving, dry shortwaves bring periods of breezy to briefly gusty onshore winds Thursday and Friday.
-Probability of South-Southwest Wind Gusts > 30 mph: -Thursday: 60-90%, across the Delta and W. Sacramento Valley -Friday: 30-60%, across Delta and vicinity area
-Despite marginal improvements in RH from onshore flow, elevated fire weather conditions likely continue through much of the week, especially during periods of strongest winds as systems move through.
-Fluctuating temperatures expected, with a brief cooling trend Thursday-Friday then returning to 80s to low 90s this weekend into early next week.

VFR conditions with mostly clear skies will continue to prevail across interior Northern California over the next 24 hours. Winds below 12 kts are expected for TAF sites, with diminishing northerly winds into the evening followed by an onshore breeze.
