30.5 inch high pressure will slide a bit east northeast with the approaching 29.5 inch low pressure migrating toward the mississippi river tonight, and will ultimately approach southern lake michigan during the daytime hours Tuesday. The low's approach will result in a more easterly wind shift across lake michigan tonight. Winds will become gusty Tuesday morning and afternoon, especially across the southern half of lake michigan, where widespread 25-30 knot gusts are forecast. A few gusts could approach gale thresholds late Tuesday morning into the early afternoon, though any such conditions aren't anticipated to be long-lasting or widespread. Have Thus held off on any gale headlines, but will continue to Monitor trends into tonight. Low pressure will shift into the ohio river valley Tuesday night into Wednesday, allowing winds to turn out of the north Wednesday afternoon. Periods of showers and isolated Thunderstorms will accompany the approaching & passing area of low pressure from late tonight through Wednesday. SEvere weather is not expected. 30.1 inch high pressure will move into the western great lakes Thursday through Friday, allowing winds to gradually taper across the open waters.
