SYNOPSIS
An upper level low will continue to drift southward today, decreasing shower activity over the region. High pressure will start to build through the weekend, giving way to warmer and drier conditions over the area. A cooler and wetter disturbance look to arrive on Wednesday.
SHORT TERM /TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY/
Radar imagery this morning shows showers still drifting through the coast and into the interior of Puget Sound. Shower activity will begin to decrease over western Washington as we head into the latter part of the morning and afternoon, as an upper level low sinks southward towards California, pulling away the moisture from our area.
Can still expect some lingering showers especially along the coast and in the mountains throughout today, but elsewhere, it will be a generally dry and rather nice day. Clouds will begin to break apart this afternoon, leading to some sunshine and high temperatures in the upper 50s.
An upper level ridge will begin to build over the weekend with northerly flow aloft, giving western Washington a warmer and drier weekend ahead. Temperatures will warm gradually, with high temps on Saturday and Sunday hovering around that 60 degree mark.
LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/
Temperatures will continue to warm into Monday, as upper level ridging remains situated over western Washington and the aforementioned low still meandering over California. High temperatures on Monday will warm into the low/mid 60s for much of the interior, with locations near the water in the upper 50s. As we get into Tuesday, temps look to still remain in the mid 60s, maybe a touch warmer near the foothills.
The warmer and drier weather will slowly fade away on Wednesday as the upper level ridge dampens and moves eastward, opening a door for upper level troughing to develop back once again.
A frontal system looks to move southward from BC and into the Pacific Northwest, likely swinging a cold front through the area that would lead to cooler and wetter conditions into Thursday.

Isolated ceilings near 1000 feet over the Kitsap Peninsula until 16z. Clouds scattering out after 21z with mostly clear skies tonight into Saturday. Patchy fog possible Saturday morning 10z-16z in the fog prone locations like the Southwest Interior.

Small craft advisory winds over the Northern Inland Waters, Admiralty Inlet and the East Entrance to the Strait of Juan de Fuca will ease this morning. Small craft advisory westerly winds in the Central Strait and East Entrance to the Strait of Juan de Fuca Saturday and Sunday night.
Seas around 11 feet over the coastal waters will subside to 9 feet this afternoon and to 5 or 6 feet tonight. Seas will remain around 5 or 6 feet into the first part of next week. Felton
