MARINE...A closed upper low approaches the west coast today, bringing southeasterly winds in the mid 20 kts range in the outer waters this afternoon and tonight, primarily in the southern outers. Winds weaken and turn northerly as this system moves onshore Wednesday morning, then northerlies strengthen further late Thursday behind another weak frontal passage. Short period SE seas briefly build tonight in the outers then weaken with the winds early Wednesday. Otherwise, a series of small W swells trickle in over the next couple of days, with relatively benign seas expected until the northerlies strengthen late Thursday. The first in a series of larger, fresh NW swells is then expected to fill in Friday and be continually reinforced through the weekend...with seas possibly remaining at or above 10 ft into early next week.
