Synopsis for northern california waters..Very steep waves over the outer waters are forecast to subside tonight as northerly winds steadily diminish. Northerly winds and seas will remain elevated south of cape mendocino on Saturday and then ease on Sunday. Lighter winds and lower seas are expected north of cape mendocino over the weekend.
