Update

and 10 knots, increasing at 10 to 15 knots with higher gusts
after 17 13z.

Marine Small craft advisories have expired across the
caribbean and surrounding waters of the u.S. Virgin islands due
to subsiding seas and winds. However, the small craft advisories
still in effect for the atlantic waters and anegada passage due
to seas up to 7 feet. No changes were made to the previous
forecast.

Prev discussion issued 338 pm ast Sun dec 16 2018
synopsis...

patches of low-level moisture has induced showers across the
northern and eastern areas of puerto rico this afternoon. A drier
air mass is forecast to filter in during the overnight hours and
hold over the area through the end of the week. Therefore an
occasional isolated shower maybe possible mainly during the
afternoon. A mid to upper-level ridge will regine across the
atlantic waters, and puerto rico which will limit moisture across
the caribbean.

Short term... Tonight through Tuesday...

a fair weather is progged to prevail through Tuesday as a result
of a drier stable air mass, and strong ridging aloft which will
suppress shower activity. Tonight lingering moisture from the
moderate winds will affect the eastern, and northern areas of
puerto rico, then early Monday the drier air mass will filter in
from the east. An example of how dry the atmosphere will be is the
relative humidities values at 850 mb will range from 25 to 50
percent, in addition precipitable water values will be less than
an 1.00 inch starting late Monday through Tuesday. As for
convection it will be stifled due to the aformentioned factors,
and if showers do develop they will be short-lived. Otherwise,
mostly sunny skies with easterly winds of 10 to 15 mph.

Long term...

a somewhat drier weather pattern is expected through the long-
term period with patches of moisture moving into the region
periodically, resulting in light passing showers. As a result of a
ridge at the surface and aloft. An inversion is forecast to
persist around 850 to 700 mb this will limit shower development
during the afternoon. However, if convection does develop it is
expected to be shallow with only light accumulations.

Marine...

marine conditions will continue to improve as a result of
weakening surface winds, however seas are forecast to range from 5
to 7 feet across the atlantic, and northern waters of puerto rico
through late Sunday night. Therefore a small craft advisories is
in effect. Elsewhere small craft advisories are in effect until 8
pm for the caribbean and coastal waters of u.S. Virgin islands. A
high risk of rip currents for the northern beaches of puerto rico,
u.S. Virgin islands.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
