GMZ005 Synopsis For Keys Coastal Waters From Ocean Reef To Dry Tortugas 1033 Pm Edt Mon Apr 29 2024
Synopsis - High pressure will meander in the western north atlantic about halfway between the northwestern bahamas and bermuda through mid-week. As this high weakens slowly, east to southeast breezes will slacken to gentle to moderate. Another high moving across the eastern united states mid to late week will phase with the current high over the atlantic. This high will result in undulations in the northeast to east breezes late week and into the weekend. Breezes will tend to peak overnight, then lull during the afternoon.

DISCUSSION
Issued at 1026 PM EDT Mon Apr 29 2024 Weather across the region featured a decayed MCS over the Mississippi River Delta followed by a wake low. To our south, Cuban seabreezes collided into afternoon thunderstorms. The easterly breezes diminished this afternoon and evening as the high over the western North Atlantic lost latitude. The 00Z KKEY RAOB sampled a little less low-level moisture compared to yesterday at this time. Inhibition is minimal and ML instability is weak. Given the decreased low-level kinematics, moisture convergence overnight is not likely. Plan views suggest an implied low-level inverted trough lingering across the Bahama Banks and the Keys over the next couple of days, likely due to the lower heights aloft noted on water vapor imagery. POPs would be likelier if this was a month or two from now. The inherited forecast is on track and calls for slight rain chances overnight and lows in the mid 70s.
