an area of high pressure will continue to dominate the weather
pattern across south florida for tonight. Most of the cloud cover
will dissipate allowing for good radiational cooling to take
place across the region. Low temperatures will drop into the upper
40s across the northwestern interior sections to the upper 50s to
around 60 across the east coast metro areas. This area of high
pressure will remain in place across the region through the early
portion of the week. Some cold air advection will still be taking
place on Monday and Monday night. High temperatures on Monday
afternoon will remain in the upper 60s across the northwestern
interior sections to the lower to mid 70s across the east coast
metro areas. Another chilly night is expected on Monday night as
low temperatures drop into the mid 40s across the northern areas
to the upper 50s across the east coast metro areas. Winds will
begin to gradually begin a shift to a more easterly direction on
Tuesday. This will allow for temperatures to moderate during this
time frame.

As the middle of the week approaches, both of the GFS and the
ecmwf develop a mid to upper level trough which will eventually
evolve into a closed low as it progresses across the eastern
portion of the country. The surface cold front will begin to
approach south florida on Wednesday night through Thursday. The
chances of showers and thunderstorms will increase on Wednesday
and they will remain elevated through Thursday night. There is the
potential for some periods of heavy rainfall during this time
frame as well. We will refine the timing, placement, and forecast
rainfall amounts in the days going forward. A few stronger storms
are also possible given increasing deep layer tropospheric flow
juxtaposed with the frontal boundary lurking in our vicinity.

However, instability appears rather limited at this time. We'll
clearly need a little more time to better refine the mesoscale
details as this event draws closer. Near normal temperatures may
trend towards slightly below normal late in the period depending
upon cloud cover and when the cold front passes through.

Marine...

northwest winds will continue across the atlantic and gulf coastal
waters for tonight through Monday with wind speeds generally
ranging between 10 and 15 knots. These winds will gradually begin
to shift to the northeast on Tuesday and then eventually to the
east southeast by the middle of the week. Cautionary to
potentially hazardous winds and waves should build towards the end
of the week, and mariners should keep up with the forecast.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
