Discussion
Scattered showers and thunderstorms have developed across the
interior and western portions of south florida this afternoon.

These showers and thunderstorms will begin to diminish as the
evening progresses and most areas will be dry overnight. Low
temperatures will range from the lower 70s across the northwestern
interior areas to near 80 across the east coast metro areas. A
ridge of high pressure located over the western atlantic will
continue to dominate the weather across the region during the
middle portion of the week. East to southeasterly flow will
continue through this time frame which will allow for late night
to early morning showers across the atlantic and east coast areas.

As the sea breezes develop, the concentration of showers and
thunderstorms will move across the interior and west coast
sections during the afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures
will remain on the warm side as they will range from near 90
across the east coast metro areas to the lower 90s across the
interior and west coast sections.

As the end of the week and the upcoming weekend approaches, south
florida will remain on the southern portion of the ridge of high
pressure located over the western atlantic. Both of the GFS and
the ECMWF show a couple of weak disturbances moving along the
easterly flow on the southern edge of the ridge into the region.

This will allow for an increase in moisture during this time frame
which will allow for higher chances of showers and thunderstorms.

The east to southeasterly flow will continue, so the pattern of late
night and morning atlantic showers followed by interior and west
coast focused thunderstorms will also continue. By the early
portion of next week, these disturbances will have moved out of
the region and the coverage of showers and thunderstorms will
slightly lower.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
