Discussion
The heat remains the big story throughout the memorial day holiday
weekend and into next week. Strong high pressure (594 dm) ridge
centered across southern georgia won't move a whole lot during the
next week so that will keep our area in a predominant easterly flow
for much of the period with high temperatures approaching or
exceeding all-time daily records. Through the holiday weekend, highs
will top out in the mid 90s with upper 90s expected across interior
sections. It's not out of the question that some spots may reach
100. Temps will be a bit cooler near the coast but still plenty hot.

Drier air aloft through the period will keep atmospheric moisture
quite low and because of this will remain mostly clear with rain
chances almost non-existent for much of the upcoming week. If you
plan on being outside during the next week, be sure to wear proper
clothing, sunscreen and drink plenty of water.

Aviation
Vfr conditions are expected through the forecast period. East winds
will increase again during the morning to around 10 knots with a
weak seabreeze possible at srq by mid-afternoon. During the late
afternoon, an easterly surge of gustier winds in the 15 to 20
knot range will be possible until around 01z.

Marine
High pressure to the north will keep a predominant easterly wind
flow in place through the next several days. We will continue to see
easterly surges for the next couple of nights, but Saturday night
should be the last night that speeds could reach exercise caution
levels, then winds lighten up some for Sunday into next week. No
other marine impacts expected.

Fire weather
Hot and dry conditions along with high dispersions can be expected
for the next several days. Minimum relative humidity values will
bottom out between 30 and 40 percent each afternoon with no red flag
conditions anticipated. No significant fog is expected.

NOTE: East coast views moved to GEOS-16. They are experimental and not well supported by NOAA so they may not be correct so be warned. This change required redoing a large amount of the GOES code. If the image you are expecting is not showing, please let me know. You may need to use the EDIT function to update your location.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
