Hazardous marine and beach conditions continue...

Update
Main weather impacts and concerns will be marine and beach
related today. Strong pressure gradient over the region
continues to generate large a rough seas in the E gulf this
morning. Latest buoy reports shows seas of 8-10+ with mix
of long period swells and wind waves on top. These seas and
swells are moving ashore area beaches producing large
breaking waves and dangerous rip currents. Beach goers
should stay out of the water and heed lifeguards orders
today into Sunday. Updated marine grids and forecast based
on latest observations and wave model guidance.

Otherwise, pleasant sensible weekend weather with fairly
cool, dry and breezy conditions. No other updates needed.

Aviation
Vfr conditions to continue today with sct LCL bkn deck aoa
5k and gusty wnw winds.

Hazardous marine and beach conditions continue...

discussion...

a deep low over the southern appalachians... With a mid level trough
down above fl and a cold front stretching through east fl coastal
waters... .Early this morning slowly tracks to the mid-atlantic coast
by late sun... With the mid level trough and front swinging out over
the atlantic. As these features depart broad deep layer ridging
slides eastward across the gulf region.

For the remainder of the weekend - stable and drier air begins to
filter in. However there will be enough moisture along with a couple
of weak troughs rotating across the area for some showers to scoot
through at times. These will be isolated and light and end this
evening... With Sun rain free. Temperatures will be on the cool side.

The main concern will residual large wave action on the gulf waters
continuing to create some high surf and dangerous rip currents.

These start to diminish later tonight and early sun.

During mon-fri - the deep layer ridging eases eastward and flattens
somewhat over the southeast u.S. Coast for the end of the week. This
is in response to a short wave trough over the southern high plains
that develops in to a deep low when it arrives in the central gulf
coastal states. A stable and generally dry airmass prevails for most
of the week. By Fri the lower level flow has shifted to southeast
and south... Returning adequate moisture for some showers and
storms. Temperatures just below normal Mon warm to above by fri.

Marine... Departing low pressure and approaching high
pressure will maintain a tight pressure gradient into this
evening with small craft advisory conditions on gulf waters.

Winds have slacken some on tampa bay and charlotte harbor
with a exercise caution headline in place. The high tracks
toward then over fl by midweek with winds diminishing and
veering.

Fire weather...

very robust 20 foot and transport winds will create very high
dispersion indices across the area today... Winds then begin to
diminish. Drier air working will will locally drop minimum rh
values below 35 percent Sun and mon. However light winds will
preclude any red flag conditions. There will be a slow and subtle
moisture return through the end of the week.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
