affecting kapf with brief west southwest flow. Expect vcsh during

interior and gulf coast region. Winds and shower storms are
expected to dissipate this evening.

update...

the showers and thunderstorms that been occurring over south
florida late this afternoon have dissipated this evening due to
the lost of heating. The weather should remain dry for tonight
over most of south florida with light winds. However, the east
coast metro areas could see a shower or two tonight on the light
easterly wind flow. Therefore, the pops will be removed from most
of the zones for tonight with only a slight chance of showers
for the east coast metro areas.

Rest of the forecast looks good at this time and no other changes
are planned.

Summer conditions this week over south florida
Discussion...

high pressure will remain over the western atlantic waters tonight
through Tuesday keeping an easterly wind flow over south florida,
as an mid level trough moves northwest from south florida into the
central gulf of mexico. This will allow for a little bit of drier
air to work into south florida from the bahamas leading to more
of a scattered coverage of showers and thunderstorms each day.

The only exception is over the western interior areas where it
will still remain in the numerous coverage due to the sea breeze
collisions.

The high will move southward into the bahamas for the middle to
end of this week, as a trough of low pressure moves through the
eastern united states. This will cause the wind flow over south
florida to become more southerly and bring back some deeper
moisture to the region. Therefore, the pops will again be back
into the scattered to numerous range with the best coverage over
the lake okeechobee region for the middle to end of this week.

Extended forecast...

the high will then move back northward into the western atlantic
waters for next weekend, as the trough of low pressure moves from
the eastern united states into the northern atlantic waters.

This will allow for the easterly wind flow to set up again over
south florida this weekend focusing the highest coverage of
showers and thunderstorms over the interior and west coast metro
areas this weekend.

Marine...

the winds will be easterly 10 knots or less tonight through
Tuesday before going more southerly for middle to end of this
week. This will keep the seas at 2 feet or less in both the
atlantic and gulf waters of south florida this week. Therefore,
boating conditions looks good this week over south florida waters
outside of any showers or thunderstorms.
