Marine Weather and Tides
5/20/2018 -- NOAA is having problems with the data feed that I use to draw the graphs. They are aware of the issue and working to resolve it. Sometimes changing the location by about a mile will give a correct graph. 3/3/2018 - There is a new GOES Satellite for the east coast that required rewriting that part of the code. Please report any issues.

|GMZ800 Synopsis For The Coastal Waters From Bonita Beach To Suwannee River- 827 Pm Edt Mon Jul 16 2018 |
Synopsis..Light winds and seas to persist over the waters over the next couple of days. By mid week, a weak front will stall over the northern waters, with southwesterly flow developing. This will set the stage for a rather prolonged period of unsettled weather and more widespread showers/storms. Southwest winds of 10 to 15 knots along with seas up to 3 feet will be possible mid to late week. This pattern looks to hold into the weekend.

Sw flow setting up with a few morning coastal showers
becoming early afternoon thunderstorms and winds becoming
more westerly and increasing to around 8kts.VFR conditions
will prevail but MVFR to ifr will be possible in any storms.
Storms then push inland and diminish in the evening, with
winds becoming light and variable after sunset.

light west flow kept most of the storms inland this
afternoon, with a handful of isolated showers and storms
still continuing to linger south of interstate 4 and east of
interstate 75. As the Sun continue to set, these storms
will gradually dissipate over the next few hours, with
mostly rain free conditions expected overnight. Under the
west flow, nocturnal showers will develop over the eastern
gulf, and could push into the coast during the early morning
Overall, the forecast looks on track. The storms have been
a bit slower moving inland over southwest florida than was
previously forecast, so rain chances were increased slightly
there. Otherwise, no significant changes were needed for
the evening update.
the last few isolated thunderstorms are winding down around
klal and kpgd. Otherwise,VFR conditions are expected to
hold overnight. Showers developing over the eastern gulf of
mexico overnight will move east and into the coast during
the morning, with another round of thunderstorms expected to
form mainly during the afternoon and early evening hours
light and mainly west winds will hold through the rest of
the week as high pressure continues to ridge from the
western atlantic across the florida peninsula. A weak front
will push south into the northern gulf during the middle of
the week, with increased chances for showers and
thunderstorms. Outside of thunderstorms winds are expected
to remain less than 15 knots, with slight seas.

The information on this web site has not been checked for accuracy. It is for entertainment purposes only and should be independently verified before using for any other reason. There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
