Marine Weather and Tides
Samoset, FL

Version 3.4
What's New / NOTES
5/20/2018 -- NOAA is having problems with the data feed that I use to draw the graphs. They are aware of the issue and working to resolve it. Sometimes changing the location by about a mile will give a correct graph. 3/3/2018 - There is a new GOES Satellite for the east coast that required rewriting that part of the code. Please report any issues.

Update
Most concentrated area of showers and storms is from citrus
county northward where favorable upper-level support and
moisture convergence are greatest. Another smaller band is
moving into coastal charlotte county at this time.

A weak surface trough located near the florida georgia
border will continue to serve as a focusing mechanism for
numerous showers and storms today. Moisture pooling ahead of
the boundary will result in locally heavy rainfall amounts
for citrus and levy counties today.

The remainder of the region should fall into a more typical
westerly flow regime pattern where morning coastal showers
and storms become more numerous east of i-75 during the
afternoon. Movement will be toward the east-northeast at 15
to 20 mph.

More significant upper-level forcing will arrive over the
nature coast on Friday as an upper-level trough begins to
carve out over the eastern half of the country. This is
likely to bring a continued threat of locally heavy rainfall
north of the tampa bay area through the end of the week,
with some potential for flooding.

Aviation
MainlyVFR next 24 hours. Some potential for brief MVFR ifr
conditions in tsra this morning, especially at pgd.

Otherwise afternoon tsra more likely inland near lal.

Marine
Winds are southwesterly at around 10 knots over most of the
waters, but with some enhancement in the vicinity of showers
and storms. Storms are most prevalent offshore citrus and
levy counties this morning, and expect this trend to
continue today.

I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
