synopsis...

no adverse weather expected through the weekend and much of next
week.

Goes WV imagery illustrates a progressive mainstream flow pattern
across the CONUS with a negatively tilted trough over nv ut az with
a swath of moisture along and ahead of it over the southern rockies.

This feature will play a role in our weather on Tue wed, as it
weakens and pushes eastward into a persistent ridge over the central
u.S. A deep trough will linger over the eastern u.S. Seaboard today
and shear off to the east this weekend as the aforementioned trough
over the southwest u.S. Lifts to the east.

Short term (today through Monday)...

today will see sunny skies with one more day of slightly
below normal temperatures before warming up to at or
slightly above normal this weekend and into much of next
week. Normals are running in the upper 70s to low 80s for
highs and upper 50s to low 60s for lows across much of the
area. In short, some great weather is expected with
northwest flow weakening and veering to the east late
Saturday and through Monday.

Long term (Tuesday through Friday)...

the next cold front will push into the region - similar to
the cold front we experienced last weekend into earlier this
week. The potential exists for some light showers Tue into
early wed... With less moisture depth noted over southwest
florida. Another brief period of near to slightly below
normal temperatures expected Wed Thu before warming up later
in the week.

Marine...

wind and sea conditions will continue to improve as northwest flow
weakens today and veers to the north and northeast tonight. An east
flow will develop Saturday and Sunday ahead of another weak cold
front expected to shift winds to the west and northeast Monday night
and Tuesday. Potential caution headlines for late Tuesday into
Wednesday.

Fire weather...

a dry airmass in place today and Saturday. The driest period
expected to be Saturday afternoon with min rh values below 35
percent, however wind speeds will continue to diminish today through
the weekend. Erc values marginal with zones of interest central and
north... Primarily from hernando northward to levy. No flags
anticipated at this time due to diminishing wind speeds.

NOTE: East coast views moved to GEOS-16. They are experimental and not well supported by NOAA so they may not be correct so be warned. This change required redoing a large amount of the GOES code. If the image you are expecting is not showing, please let me know. You may need to use the EDIT function to update your location.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
