national weather service tampa bay ruskin fl
230 pm edt Mon sep 25 2017

Short term (tonight - Tuesday)
In the upper levels, weak ridging extends from eastern cuba and over
southern florida. A weak upper low will persist over the ms al
coastline through Tuesday morning. Another area of ridging extending
over new england will keep hurricane maria off the coast of north
carolina as it moves northward. On the surface, high pressure will
remain in control of the weather across the florida peninsula. In
the western atlantic, hurricane maria continues to make her way
northward. Models continue to take this storm to the north and maria
is not expected to pose a threat to the florida peninsula. With high
pressure over the region for the next several days, rain chances
will be on the low side (10-30%) pops with seasonal temps expected.

Mid term long term (Tuesday night through next Monday)
Weak surface troughing and some drier air continues in
place during thu. Then high pressure moves to the upper
great lakes and east to new england... Pushing a cold front
ahead of it that perhaps reaches northern fl during the
weekend. The 1000-700 mb flow in advance of the front
becomes easterly by Fri and strengthens some over the
weekend. As a result moisture will increase with model pwat
values climbing from the 1.4 to 1.6 inch range into 1.8 to
over 2 inch range by early next week... With the higher
values across the south.

Generally isolated showers and thunderstorms will be confined
to the interior and south around midweek but then spread
northward by the end of the work week and increase into
scattered showers and storms for the weekend and early next
week. Temperatures will run on the warm side of normal
although the afternoon highs dip a degree or two by the end
of the period.

Aviation
Vfr conditions expected at all terminals for the next 24 hours.

Drier air moving into the area should keep conditions rain free.

Winds will be light and variable early afternoon, then slightly
increasing with an onshore flow later this afternoon, but still
remaining less than 10 knots. No other aviation impacts expected.

Marine
High pressure over the gulf will produce predominately dry
conditions through the week. Winds will remain less than 10 knots
through the week with no marine marine boating impacts expected.

Fire weather
No fire weather concerns for the next few days as relative humidity
levels will remain above critical levels. Some patchy and shallow
ground fog is possible, but no widespread or dense fog is expected.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
