Short term (today and Saturday)
The remnants of cindy continue to lift northeastward across
southern arkansas early this morning. Meanwhile, upper
level and surface ridging continue to build in across the
gulf of mexico and florida peninsula.

The surface ridge axis will continue to extend across the
central florida peninsula. This will foster a south to
southeast surface wind flow pattern, favoring scattered
afternoon storms developing inland and moving west out over
the gulf waters during the evenings. Convective coverage
will once again be suppressed as a ribbon of drier air
remains over the region. A scenario similar to yesterday
appears probable with a narrow corridor of more widespread
activity and little outside of that corridor. Expect the
greatest rain chances to extend from just south of tampa bay
along the southwest florida coast. With slightly lesser
cloud coverage and the pinning of the seabreeze near the
coast throughout much of the afternoon, another hot day is
expected with temperatures nearing 95 degrees in some
locations.

Saturday will generally feature much of the same, with
scattered afternoon thunderstorms developing inland and
shifting west through the evening. Mid level moisture will
have increased slightly, so thunderstorm coverage will
likely be a bit greater than today.

Mid long term (Saturday night - Thursday)
For Sunday, the surface ridge axis positioning will allow
for a sse SE wind flow to continue across the area. Deeper
moisture will be in place Sunday compared to Saturday so
expecting greater coverage of showers and storms for the
second half of the weekend. Rain chances will be even higher
for the start of the workweek an upper level trough begins
to encroach on the northern part of the state. A
sufficiently moist and unstable airmass will support high
pops (50-70 percent) into Thursday. Temperatures throughout
the period will be seasonal with highs within a few degrees
of 90 for the weekend with upper 80s more likely Tuesday -
Thursday with higher cloud cover rain chances; overnight
lows generally in the middle 70s daily, maybe some lower 70s
across the nature coast late in the forecast period.

Aviation (06z tafs)
Light east winds will prevail through sunrise withVFR
conditions. Winds will increase, becoming more southerly
with time. The seabreeze will turn winds to the southwest
early to mid afternoon for coastal terminals. Widely
scattered showers and storms will develop 18z to 20z with
the greatest chances confined to areas south of i-4. Will
maintain vcts for kpgd kfmy krsw. With lesser confidence
further north, will refrain from mention of vcts, though it
may become necessary in later TAF issuances.

Marine
Surface high pressure will extend across the gulf waters
through the coming week. This will allow for persistent
light south to southeast winds turning onshore near the
coast each afternoon with the seabreeze. The only marine
concern will be locally stronger winds and rougher seas with
any marine thunderstorms that occur.

Fire weather
With moist southeasterly flow to continue through the next
week, moisture content and associated humidities will remain
well above critical levels. This combined with chances for
rain each day will prevent any fire weather concerns.

It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
