update...

the shortwave that has been over the region has now passed east of
the state while the surface ridge axis remains stretched across
south florida. As we head through the rest of the day, ridging aloft
will start to build over the region as the surface ridge axis
generally remains in place. This will keep a southwest low-level
flow across the region. The difference is that some relatively drier
air will move over the region, so rain chances will be lower than
the previous couple of days and will be limited to mainly our far
northern zones and the interior part of the state.

For Friday and the weekend, the ridge aloft builds more overhead,
bringing even drier air over the area. The surface ridge will
migrate northward, leading to a lighter and more northwest low-level
flow. With this setup, rain chances remain on the low side, with the
best chances inland. Temperatures will likely be a couple of degrees
warmer due to less cloud cover and rainfall. Moisture then returns
some for early next week, with rain chances going back up a bit,
but the best coverage remains inland.

Aviation...

mainlyVFR conditions are expected to prevail through the forecast
period. Rainfall coverage is forecast to be lower today due to some
drier air and so have left any mention of rain out of all TAF sites
through the day. Winds will remain generally southwesterly.

Marine...

high pressure south of the area will keep a southwest wind flow in
place across the waters through the end of the week. No headlines
are expected, though winds and seas will be higher in or near any
showers and thunderstorms.

Fire weather...

some drier air will work its way into the region for the next few days,
but relative humidity values are expected to remain above critical levels
with no fire weather concerns. No significant fog is expected.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
