Update
The west coast sea breeze stayed pinned fairly close to the coast
today, with most of the convection staying east and south of the
tampa bay through the afternoon. However, a couple of well defined
outflow boundaries have been racing west across the area and are now
firing up a fresh batch of thunderstorms as the boundary meets the
west coast sea breeze. This convection is generally expected to
continue through the next couple of hours and expand west into the
eastern gulf before dissipating by midnight.

Some minor edits were made to the pop grids through the early evening
to keep up with radar trends, but no other changes were needed for
the evening update. The forecast looks on track through Thursday with
thunderstorms developing across the interior during the early to mid
afternoon and working west through the evening.

Aviation
An outflow boundary is rushing west through the tampa bay, bringing
an increase in easterly winds through the next couple of hours.

Convection is lingering around the southwest florida TAF sites, and
storms are starting to develop again around the tampa bay as the
outflow boundary meets the west coast sea breeze, so reduced flight
categories will continue to be possible through around 03z at all
area terminals. GenerallyVFR conditions will then take hold
overnight, although some isolated MVFR clouds cannot be ruled out
around sunrise. Scattered thunderstorms will develop again Thursday
afternoon.

Marine
High pressure north of the coastal waters will settle south into the
area by this weekend, with light winds and seas continuing. Scattered
thunderstorms will develop each afternoon over the florida peninsula
and generally shift east into the eastern gulf of mexico, through
the afternoon and early evening hours, creating locally hazardous
marine conditions.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
