Short term (today-Wednesday)
High pressure will ridge across the area at the surface and
aloft through the period as a trough moves west toward the
carolinas coast today and then lifts north into the low over
canada through Wednesday. This will keep generally light
east to southeast winds with an afternoon sea breeze near
the coast each day. Scattered to numerous showers and
thunderstorms will also be possible each day mainly in the
later afternoon and evening hours coming in from the east
coast and also developing along the sea breeze, with the
highest chances near the coast as the two boundaries
collide. Temperatures will continue to be warm, with highs
generally in the lower 90s each day and lows overnight in
the lower to mid 70s inland and in the mid to upper 70s near
the coast. Heat index values will be in the 100 to 105 range
each afternoon.

Long term (Wednesday night - Monday)
Broad upper level ridging near bermuda extends west-
southwest over florida and into the gulf of mexico to
start out the long term period. This ridge further builds by
late Saturday into Sunday becoming more west-east oriented
and will extend from bermuda to texas. On the surface, high
pressure northeast of bermuda ridges southwest over florida
and into the gulf of mexico, while a cold front extends
south along the eastern seaboard, then turning west-
southwest in georgia and further extending west through
texas. The high pressure will keep any effects of this front
to the north of the area. Another area of high pressure
moves southeast behind this front and will be the dominant
weather feature for the weekend and into next week. A
predominant northeast through southeast wind flow can be
expected through the long term period. Daily showers and
storms will form along the east coast of florida by late
morning, move westward over the inland areas through the
afternoon and evening hours with the highest coverage over
the west coast of florida between 18-00z each day. Daytime
highs will continue to be a few degrees above average with
highs in the low to mid 90's region wide with heat indices
reaching 100-105 degrees each day.

Aviation
Light winds overnight will increase from the E SE after 14z,
then turn onshore with the sea breeze in the afternoon.

Will also have scattered storms near the terminals 19-02z.

Vfr conditions will prevail, but MVFR to ifr will be
possible in storms. Winds become light and variable again
after sunset with skies clearing overnight.

Marine
Winds and seas will be light through the period with winds
from the E SE through the period as high pressure ridges
across the waters from the atlantic. Scattered showers and
thunderstorms will be possible each day, with winds and seas
locally higher near the storms. No headlines expected
through the period.

Fire weather
No concerns.

NOTE: East coast views moved to GEOS-16. They are experimental and not well supported by NOAA so they may not be correct so be warned. This change required redoing a large amount of the GOES code. If the image you are expecting is not showing, please let me know. You may need to use the EDIT function to update your location.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
