Update
Stronger high pressure system exists to our north over the carolinas
compared to yesterday now at 1025 mb with deep easterly flow over
the region. Water vapor imagery shows well-defined mid to upper
level low across the southwest fl area pushing west at about 10 to
15 mph. A substantial dry layer exists above about 15 kft per 12z
jax sounding but sufficient moisture in the low levels for showers
to develop in low level convergence. Pwat imagery from GOES also
indicates a local maxima near 1.7 inches around camden county. Radar
shows a few showers moving west over the coastal counties mainly
from jax northward but activity diminishes further inland. With
daytime heating and weak lift associated with vort advection around
the upper level low, isolated to scattered convection is expected
through the day. More limited heating today with 850 mb temps a
touch cooler will allow for weaker instability. Easterly breezes
around 10-15 mph along the coastal areas today. Additional isolated
to scattered shower activity expected tonight impacting the coastal
counties and adjacent marine waters as deeper moisture pools near
the coast. Minor tweaks to the forecast mainly for pops and weather
today and tonight.

Aviation
Isolated to scattered showers will be moving onshore through the
mid morning hours with some CIGS around 2000-3000 ft. A chance of
showers and a low chance of t-storms expected into the aftn as
well. A chance of MVFR vsby as well as showers storms may
briefly produce moderate to heavy rain as they move west at about
12-15 knots. Additional weak to moderate showers possible after
sunset as they push in from the atlantic waters mainly impacting
the coastal terminals. Easterly winds will increase to near 10-15
kt but lighter wind around gnv through the day.

Marine
Little overall change in forecast today. Winds expected to be
easterly 10-15 kt through tonight with a chance of showers and
slight chance of a thunderstorm. Seas on track with nwps forecasts
to be up to 3-5 ft and periods now dominated mix of wind waves
around 5 seconds and some easterly swells around 9 seconds.

Rip currents: breezy onshore flow and weak east swells will allow
for moderate risk of rip currents today.

There are five sources. 1) Documents and manuals from a variety of sources. These have not been checked for accuracy and in many cases have not even been read by anyone associated with L-36.com. I have no idea of they are useful or accurate, I leave that to the reader. 2) Articles others have written and submitted. If you have questions on these, please contact the author. 3) Articles that represent my personal opinions. These are intended to promote thought and for entertainment. These are not intended to be fact, they are my opinions. 4) Small programs that generate result presented on a web page. Like any computer program, these may and in some cases do have errors. Almost all of these also make simplifying assumptions so they are not totally accurate even if there are no errors. Please verify all results. 5) Weather information is from numerious of sources and is presented automatically. It is not checked for accuracy either by anyone at L-36.com or by the source which is typically the US Government. See the NOAA web site for their disclaimer. Finally, tide and current data on this site is from 2007 and 2008 data bases, which may contain even older data. Changes in harbors due to building or dredging change tides and currents and for that reason many of the locations presented are no longer supported by newer data bases. For example, there is very little tidal current data in newer data bases so current data is likely wrong to some extent. This data is NOT FOR NAVIGATION. See the XTide disclaimer for details. In addition, tide and current are influenced by storms, river flow, and other factors beyond the ability of any predictive program.
